Terms of sale, participation agreement and privacy policy

Please read this page in full before you pay.

There is nothing to print, nothing to sign and nothing to send back. Checking the box at checkout and paying is your signature. By checking the acceptance box and paying a deposit or the full price of this retreat, you enter into this agreement and you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted everything that follows, exactly as if you had signed it by hand.

That is why these fifteen minutes are worth it now, rather than the surprise later.

1. Who you are entering into this contract with

The Oracle Woman retreat is organized by Mélina Deschênes, a sole proprietorship registered in Quebec under business number (NEQ) 2273467458, in Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, Quebec, Canada.

About the name. Mélina works publicly, and everywhere online, under the name Mélina Russell, which is her mother's family name. An application to add that name officially is in progress. Mélina Deschênes and Mélina Russell are the same person. Wherever a legal name is required, including on invoices, receipts and this agreement, it is Mélina Deschênes.

In this document, "we" and "the organizer" mean Mélina Deschênes. "You" means the participant.

Email is the fastest way to reach us and it is the address we monitor. A mailing address for official correspondence is available on request.

2. What you are buying

A ten day residential retreat at Samadhi Sacred Valley, in Urubamba, Peru, from January 9 to 18, 2027, followed by seven weeks of embodiment. The first is a full week of rest, with no calls and no demands, and four group integration calls held on Zoom are spread across those seven weeks.

The description of what is included and what is not is on the retreat page, at oraclewoman.com/perou2027 in French and at oraclewoman.com/oraclewomanperu in English. The "What is included" and "What costs extra" lists there form part of this agreement.

If a sales page and this agreement contradict each other on price, deposit, installments, cancellation or refunds, this agreement governs.

The retreat welcomes a maximum of 18 participants, accompanied by a team of three: two facilitators, Mélina Russell and Vanessa Massicotte, and Léane Cloutier, who is the photographer and videographer. That makes a maximum of 21 people on site.

The retreat runs entirely in English, including the group sessions, the ceremonies and the guides on the ground. You need a working level of English to take part.

3. Who can book

You must be 21 or older on the start date of the retreat.

Every place is confirmed after a conversation with Mélina. We may decline a booking, before or after payment, if we believe in good faith that the retreat is not right for you or that your participation would compromise your safety or the safety of the group. If we decline for that reason, everything you have paid is refunded in full, including the deposit.

How booking works, step by step

1. You speak with Mélina. Every place starts with a conversation, not with a checkout page.
2. You read this page, in full, before you pay anything.
3. You check the acceptance box and you pay. Checking that box is your signature on this agreement. See section 23.
4. You then receive a link to your consent and health form, securely hosted, within five business days of your payment. You complete it and sign it electronically. It covers your full health disclosure, your consent to touch, your choice about photos and video, your emergency contact, and a copy of your passport for your train and site entry tickets.
5. Your place is final once that form is returned, signed. We ask that your form come back to us no later than January 5, 2027, the same day bookings close, so that everything is in place before departure.

If the health form reveals something that makes the retreat unsuitable for you, we will tell you honestly and everything you have paid is refunded in full, deposit included, as set out in section 12.

4. Price

All prices are in US dollars (USD).

Your deposit is $1,000 USD, or $1,050 USD on the three installment plan, whichever bed you choose. It counts toward the price above, and the balance is what remains. If you book on or after December 10, 2026, the deposit is higher, and section 5 explains why and by how much.

Your place is offered to you on your call, and it is held as soon as your deposit is paid.

Cabins are shared, three women per cabin, each with a private bathroom. Private cabins are not available for this retreat. If sharing is not possible for you, this retreat is not the right one, and it is better to know that now.

The total is the same whether you pay at once or in several installments. There is no surcharge, no interest and no fee for spreading the payment. See section 5.

Prices do not include international flights, travel insurance, personal spending, tips, your own medication, or optional extras bought on site.

5. Payment

Bookings close on January 5, 2027, four days before departure, even if a bed is still free.

Deposit. A deposit of $1,000 USD holds your place, whichever bed you choose, or $1,050 USD if you choose the three installment plan, because that is the amount that makes the three installments land exactly on the price. It counts toward the total price, and the balance is what remains. It is not a surcharge.

Booking on or after December 10, 2026. By that point in the year there are no longer enough months before departure to spread the balance, so the deposit is half the price: $2,400 USD for a single bed and $2,625 USD for a double bed. The rest follows in two monthly installments. This is the only situation where the deposit changes, and it is announced in advance rather than discovered at checkout.

The deposit is non refundable in every case, including if you cancel, if you cannot travel, or if you do not obtain the documents required to enter Peru. The only exceptions are section 3, where we decline your booking, section 12, where your health form shows that the retreat is not right for you, section 16, where you prefer not to be filmed during bodywork and we agree together not to go ahead, and section 9, where we cancel the retreat. In each of those cases, everything you have paid is refunded in full.

Balance. The balance is payable either in full or in equal monthly installments, with no surcharge and no interest. The total is the same either way.

How installments are charged. Your deposit is charged on the day you enroll. Each following installment is charged one month later, on the same date of the month, until the balance is paid. The number of installments is agreed with you at the time of booking, and there is no imposed calendar date.

Installments may fall after the retreat. Depending on your booking date and the number of installments you choose, your final charges may take place after January 18, 2027. That is expected and it is accepted. The balance for a retreat you attended remains due in full, and installments continue to the end of the plan. This rule applies only to a retreat that has already been lived. It never applies to a cancellation, which is governed by section 7.

Declined payments. If an installment fails, we contact you and you have seven days to settle it. After that, we may treat the place as cancelled under section 7.

Currency and fees. You are responsible for any currency conversion charge, foreign transaction fee or bank fee applied by your card issuer or your bank.

6. Travel insurance is mandatory

You must hold travel insurance for the whole duration of your trip, at your own cost, and you must be able to provide us with proof of it before departure.

Your policy must cover, at a minimum: emergency medical care and hospitalization abroad, emergency medical evacuation and repatriation, and trip cancellation and interruption.

Buy it on the day you pay your deposit, rather than shortly before you leave. Cancellation coverage generally applies only to events that occur after the policy is issued, so a policy bought late covers almost nothing you would want it to cover.

Peruvian clinics and hospitals commonly require payment at the time of care.

7. If you cancel

Your deposit is non refundable in every case. For the balance you have paid, the date of your cancellation decides:

If you stop your installments without transferring your place, the amounts already paid are retained according to the table above and your place is released to another participant. You owe nothing further. This rule applies before the retreat. If you attended the retreat, the balance remains due and your installments continue, as set out in section 5.

From December 1, 2026 onward, your bed, your cabin, your train seat to Machu Picchu, your entry tickets and your ceremonies have already been paid for in your name. That money is gone.

Your place remains yours, however. You can transfer it to another woman, as a gift or as a private arrangement between the two of you, at any time up to departure. She has the same conversation with Mélina that you had, meets the same conditions, and completes the same health form. That is the only condition, and there is no transfer fee.

Up to January 5, 2027, the transfer is complete. After that date, your place remains transferable, but your train and Machu Picchu entry tickets are already issued in your name and cannot be reissued or refunded, as section 10 explains. So that one day does not transfer, and the rest of the retreat does.

Your place also transfers to any other Oracle Woman retreat within 18 months, at no charge. If no other retreat is offered within that period, we return whatever remains of your credit once the amounts already committed in your name to suppliers are deducted, and we give you the breakdown.

Any cancellation must be sent in writing to [email protected]. The date your email is received is the date that counts.

8. If you leave early, or miss part of the retreat

If you choose to leave before the end, or if you cannot take part in a session, an excursion or a ceremony for any reason at all, no refund or credit is given for the unused portion. Accommodation, meals, transport and entry tickets are booked and paid for in your name for the whole period.

The costs of going home early, including changing your flight and any transport to Cusco outside our scheduled transfers, are yours.

The same applies if you arrive late.

9. If we cancel or change the retreat

If we cancel the retreat entirely for a reason within our control, you receive a full refund of everything you have paid, including the deposit.

If we cancel for a reason outside our control, including any event described in section 19, we refund everything that has not already been committed in your name to the accommodation, the rail operator, the ceremony holders and the other suppliers. What is already committed is transferred to your place on the next Oracle Woman retreat rather than lost. If no other retreat is offered within 18 months, we return whatever the suppliers release back to us, with the breakdown.

This is one of the reasons travel insurance is required rather than suggested.

Minor changes. The itinerary, the schedule, the excursions and the team members may change. Weather, rail disruptions, landslides and local conditions are part of the reality of the Sacred Valley in January. We will let you know promptly and will always aim to provide an equivalent experience. Changes of this kind do not give rise to a refund.

10. Travel documents are your responsibility

You are responsible for holding a valid passport, for obtaining any visa or entry authorization required for your nationality, and for meeting any entry requirement in force at the time of travel.

Peru requires a passport valid for at least six months beyond your date of arrival.

You will need your passport with you on the Machu Picchu excursion. It is checked on the train and again at the entrance, and the name on your ticket must match your passport exactly. You are responsible for giving us your name exactly as it appears on your passport, before the deadline we communicate to you. Tickets issued with an incorrect name cannot be changed or refunded, and the cost of a replacement is yours.

If you are denied boarding or denied entry to Peru, section 7 applies.

11. What this retreat is, and what it is not

This matters more than anything else on this page, so it is written plainly.

Nothing here is a medical or psychological service. The retreat offers somatic and energetic practices, including Holosomatic Bodywork®, hands-on energy work along the spine, vital energy activation, energy sessions, theory on how energy moves through the body and how memory is stored in it, breathwork, movement and group process, along with traditional Andean ceremonies led by local practitioners.

These practices are not medicine, not psychotherapy, not diagnosis, not treatment, and not a substitute for the care of a licensed health professional. They do not replace your doctor, your psychologist, your psychiatrist, your psychotherapist, your physiotherapist, your chiropractor, or any other regulated health professional. Nothing said or done during the retreat should be understood as medical or psychological advice.

Do not stop, start or change any medication, treatment or professional care because of anything that happens here. Those decisions belong to you and to your own practitioners.

If you are under the care of a health professional, we encourage you to tell them you are coming. Many are glad to know.

No outcome is promised or guaranteed. Every woman is different and results depend on your own history, your body, your circumstances and what you choose to do next. Nothing on the retreat page, in an email, in a conversation, or in a testimonial from a past participant is a promise, a guarantee or a prediction of what will happen for you. Testimonials describe individual experiences and are not representative of an expected result.

Team qualifications. Team members may hold professional or health qualifications. On this retreat, they act as facilitators, not as your clinicians, and no practitioner-patient or therapist-client relationship is created between you and any of us.

In an emergency, we call medical services. We are not equipped to provide medical care ourselves.

12. Health, and the conditions we need to know about

The retreat includes physical activity, walking on uneven ground, stairs, travel at altitude, a traditional sweat ceremony involving sustained heat, intensive breathwork, and manual and energetic bodywork including work along the spine.

You must tell us, in writing on the health form, if any of the following applies to you

Neurological
Epilepsy or any seizure disorder. Stroke, transient ischemic attack, or any other neurological condition. Aneurysm, in the brain or elsewhere.

Cardiovascular
Any heart condition, including angina or a previous heart attack. High blood pressure, controlled or not. Any use of anticoagulants or blood thinning medication.

Eyes
Glaucoma or retinal detachment. Both are affected by the pressure changes that intensive breathwork creates.

Spine, bones and joints
Osteoporosis. Any spinal injury, spinal instability, disc herniation, fusion or implant. Any surgery in the last twelve months, spinal or otherwise. Any recent fracture. Any joint replacement.

Respiratory
Asthma, COPD, or any condition that affects your breathing. Bring your inhaler.

Mental health
Any psychiatric diagnosis, including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, psychosis, a dissociative disorder or borderline personality disorder. Any psychiatric hospitalization. Any current psychiatric medication. Being in therapy is not an obstacle and never has been; not telling us is.

Other
Pregnancy, or any possibility of pregnancy. Diabetes. Kidney or liver disease. Cancer, current or in treatment. Any pacemaker or implanted medical device. Any allergy, and in particular any allergy requiring an epinephrine auto-injector. Anything that has ever gone wrong for you in heat.

What happens next

Disclosing something from this list does not automatically exclude you. Most of these situations can be worked around. It means we look at it together, honestly, before you book, and that in some cases we will ask you to get your own doctor's approval first.

Some conditions are genuinely incompatible with parts of the program. In that case, you can still take part in the retreat by opting out of one specific element, most often the temazcal or the intensive breathwork. We will tell you clearly rather than let you find out in the room.

Where a condition makes the retreat unsuitable as a whole, we will tell you as soon as we see it, and everything you have paid is refunded in full, deposit included, whatever the date. That is also true if you book late and have already paid the full amount.

Your ongoing obligation. If your health changes between booking and departure, or during the retreat, you must tell us promptly.

Withholding or misrepresenting health information may result in your participation being refused or ended, with no refund, and it takes away our ability to keep you safe.

Medication and personal medical equipment are your responsibility: bring enough of it, in its original packaging, and keep it with you. That includes any epinephrine auto-injector, inhaler or other emergency medication you rely on.

Emergency care. You authorize us to seek emergency medical help on your behalf if you are not able to do so yourself, and you accept responsibility for the cost of the care provided.

13. Risk, and the limits of our liability

Travelling in a foreign country, and this retreat in particular, carry inherent risks. These include, without limitation: illness, injury, allergic reaction, altitude related effects, heat related effects during the temazcal, effects related to intensive breathwork, soreness or discomfort after bodywork, slips and falls on uneven or wet ground, travel by car and by train, weather, theft, loss of personal belongings, delay, and emotional, psychological or energetic reactions that can arise in deep somatic work, including the surfacing of difficult memories or intense emotional states.

You acknowledge that you understand these risks, that they have been described to you clearly, and that you choose to take part voluntarily.

We undertake to run the retreat with reasonable care and skill, to choose suppliers in good faith, and to act prudently in your interest.

Subject to the paragraph below, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for: the acts, omissions or failures of independent third parties, including the accommodation, the rail operator, airlines, drivers, guides, ceremony holders and medical care providers; the loss, theft of or damage to personal belongings; costs arising from delay, cancellation, weather or the events described in section 19; decisions you make about your own health, your medication or your professional care; or any indirect or consequential loss.

Limits imposed by Quebec law. Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits our liability for bodily or moral injury caused by our own fault, or for gross or intentional fault, because article 1474 of the Civil Code of Québec does not allow it. If part of this section is held invalid, the rest continues to apply.

Where our liability is engaged and can lawfully be limited, it is limited to the amount you paid for the retreat.

Every activity, named, with what it actually involves

Below, each element of the retreat is set out with the specific risks it carries. Read them one by one. By booking, you acknowledge each of them.

Three things apply to every element on this list.

First, every activity is optional and you are free at every moment. You can decline any of them before it starts, and you can stop, step out or leave at any point while it is under way, with no explanation and with no comment from anyone, at the time or later. No one will encourage you to push through anything. Your free will is complete and it is never up for negotiation. Declining does not give rise to a refund, as set out in section 8.

Second, there is no physical contact without your consent, and there is no nudity at any time. You stay clothed throughout the retreat, in every session, every ceremony and every practice. No practice here asks you to undress. Consent to touch is asked for and can be withdrawn at any second, with no explanation. Touch is never sexual and never involves the breasts or the genitals. "Stop", "not there" and "no" are complete answers, they need no reason, and they are respected immediately.

Third, several of these activities are led by independent third parties, named below. We choose them in good faith and we have worked with them before. They are not our employees, we do not control how they carry out their own tradition or their own service, and we are not liable for their acts or omissions.

The temazcal, on January 12

What it is. A traditional Andean and Mesoamerican purification ceremony held inside a low, enclosed dome. Volcanic stones are heated in an outdoor fire then brought inside, and herb infused water is poured over them. It takes place in near total darkness, in rounds, over about two hours, and the heat and humidity rise with each round. It is led by a local shaman and her husband, in their own tradition. Everything spoken to the group is in English, and nothing is translated for you.

The specific risks. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Dehydration. Dizziness, nausea and fainting. Elevated heart rate and blood pressure. Burns from contact with the hot stones or the fire. Difficulty breathing in hot, humid, confined air. Claustrophobia, panic and acute anxiety in the dark and the enclosed space. Worsening of any cardiac, respiratory, neurological or blood pressure condition. Strong emotional release.

Do not take part if you are pregnant, or if you have a heart condition, uncontrolled blood pressure, epilepsy or a seizure disorder, a respiratory condition that affects your breathing, or any history of trouble in heat, unless it has been discussed with us and approved by your own doctor. See section 12.

What we do. Your body is prepared beforehand. Water is available. You sit wherever you want, and the spot closest to the door is yours if you want it. You can step out between rounds at any time, and someone goes outside with you. No one comments, at the time or later.

You acknowledge that heat ceremonies carry an inherent risk of serious injury, that this one is led by an independent local practitioner in her own tradition, and that you take part voluntarily after reading the above.

The paqarina, the water ritual

What it is. A short ceremony at a natural water source.

The specific risks. The water is cold. Cold water carries a risk of cold shock, reflex gasping, loss of breath and cardiac stress, particularly for anyone with a heart condition or high blood pressure. Wet rock is slippery and falls are possible. Uneven natural ground.

What we do. The ritual is short, supervised, and you choose how far you go into the water, including not at all.

The despacho, on the first evening

What it is. An offering to Pachamama, assembled into a bundle and given to the fire, led by the shaman of the family who owns the property.

The specific risks. Open flame, smoke, and smoke inhalation. Sitting on the ground for an extended period. If you have asthma or any respiratory condition, sit on the upwind side and keep your inhaler with you.

Machu Picchu, on January 14

What it is. A full day outdoors. A train from Ollantaytambo, about ninety minutes in each direction. A bus that climbs a steep switchback dirt road to the site. Two and a half to three hours walking the circuit, on foot, with an accredited Peruvian guide.

The specific risks. The site is ancient stone: uneven, with irregular steps, drop-offs, and no handrails in most places. It is often wet in January and the stone becomes slippery. Steep stairs and sustained effort. Strong sun and rapid weather changes. Crowds. A long day that starts before dawn. There are no medical facilities on the site itself, and evacuation from the citadel is on foot and slow. Travel by train and on mountain roads. Motion sickness on the bus.

Practical requirements. You must have your passport on you; it is checked on the train and at the entrance, and the name on your ticket must match it exactly. The train limits you to an 8 kg bag with combined dimensions under 115 cm, and the site refuses bags larger than 40 by 35 by 20 cm. Adequate closed shoes with good grip are required.

Third parties. The rail operator, the bus operator, the accredited guide and the site authority are independent of us. Their schedules, their conditions of carriage and their site rules apply, and we are not liable for their acts, their delays or their cancellations.

Alternative. If you would rather not go, the day is yours at the accommodation, and nothing is lost socially by making that choice.

Maras and Moray, on January 16

What it is. A visit to two Inca sites on the plateau, reachable by road, with short walks on open ground.

The specific risks. Uneven, unfenced terraces with drops. Narrow raised paths between the salt pans, slippery, where a fall into a pool is possible. Strong, exposed sun with no shade. Travel on mountain roads.

Breathwork, vital energy activation and energy work

What it is. Practices of sustained conscious breathing, movement, and energetic activation, held in a group.

The specific risks. Dizziness and light headedness. Tingling, and tetany, meaning the temporary cramping of the hands, feet and face that intensive breathing can produce. Fainting. Temporary changes in heart rate and blood pressure. Increased pressure in the eyes. Involuntary movement, shaking or vocalization. Intense emotional release, including grief, anger, fear and euphoria. The surfacing of difficult memories. Temporary disorientation. In rare cases, a strong or destabilizing psychological reaction that may continue after the session ends.

Do not take part if you have epilepsy or a seizure disorder, an aneurysm, cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, glaucoma or retinal detachment, if you are pregnant, if you take anticoagulants, or if you have a psychiatric diagnosis or a history of psychiatric hospitalization, unless it has been discussed with us and approved by your own doctor. See section 12.

What we do. You are shown how to slow down or stop the breathing at any time. Someone stays with you if you need to stop. No one is left alone with a strong reaction, at any hour.

Holosomatic Bodywork® and hands-on energy work along the spine

What it is. Manual and close to the body work, including work along the full length of the spine.

The specific risks. Soreness, tenderness and fatigue afterward, sometimes for a day or two. Bruising. Aggravation of an existing injury, disc problem or joint condition. Involuntary movement or spontaneous emotional release during the session. Temporary emotional vulnerability afterward.

Do not take part if you have osteoporosis, a spinal injury, spinal instability, a disc herniation, a fusion or an implant, a recent fracture, a joint replacement, or surgery in the last twelve months, unless it has been discussed with us and approved by your own doctor. See section 12.

Consent to touch. This work involves physical touch, and everything stated in the second principle at the top of this list applies here in full. You are asked beforehand, you stay clothed, you are never nude, and you can withdraw your consent at any second without explaining yourself. Touch is never sexual and never involves the breasts or the genitals.

Ground transport in Peru

All road travel takes place on Andean mountain roads, including unpaved sections, switchbacks and drop-offs, sometimes in the rain. Drivers and vehicles are provided by independent local operators, chosen in good faith. Road conditions, other drivers and weather are outside anyone's control.

Markets, outings in town and free time

You are free to leave the accommodation during free time. When you do so unaccompanied, you do so at your own risk and on your own responsibility, and we are not supervising you. Normal travel precautions apply: pickpocketing in markets, uneven sidewalks, traffic, and stray dogs.

The optional Peruvian massage, on January 12

Arranged on site with an independent local therapist and paid directly by you, at $77 USD. It is a separate service between you and that therapist. Tell her about any injury or condition. We are not responsible for that service.

Food, water and coca leaf tea

All meals are prepared by the accommodation. Despite the care taken with allergies and dietary requirements, cross contamination is possible in any kitchen, and that is why you keep your own emergency medication with you. See section 12.

On coca leaf tea and drug testing, see section 14.

14. Conduct during the retreat

This is a small residential group sharing one place. What makes it work is simple.

You agree to treat the other participants, the team, the family who owns the property and their staff with respect, and to follow reasonable safety instructions.

Substances. No illegal drugs of any kind. No plant medicine is used, offered or permitted on this retreat, and bringing any is grounds for immediate dismissal.

Alcohol. None is served during the retreat, at any meal. Alcohol is available locally and nothing is confiscated, so this is a request rather than a rule: we strongly recommend that you not drink during these ten days. The whole point of what you came for is presence and the capacity to feel what is happening in your body. Alcohol dulls exactly that, and it will cost you the thing you paid for.

Coca leaf tea is served on site as a traditional local drink. It is not a medicine and it is not part of any ceremony. Be aware that drinking it can produce a positive result on a urine drug test for cocaine metabolites for about 24 hours after a single cup. If you are subject to drug testing at work or in sport, do not drink it. That choice is yours and it is yours to manage.

Dismissal. If your behaviour endangers the group or seriously disrupts it, we may end your participation. No refund is given and any resulting departure cost is yours.

15. Group confidentiality

What is shared in a circle or a session stays there. You agree not to repeat, publish or discuss outside the group anything another participant shares, during the retreat or after.

We make the same commitment to you. Nothing you say in a circle or a session is ever used as promotional material or repeated to anyone.

16. Filming, photos, video and use of your image

Bodywork sessions are filmed, and here is exactly why

Every Holosomatic Bodywork® session is filmed. Nothing else on the retreat is. You should know that before you book rather than discover it in the room.

Why. Bodywork involves one person placing her hands on another person's body. It is a situation where, if something is questioned afterward, it is one account against another and neither can prove anything. A recording removes that completely. It protects you if you are ever uncomfortable with something that happened, and it protects the practitioner against a groundless claim. It is the same reason a camera runs in a clinical treatment room, and it is now standard practice in serious manual work.

It exists so that neither of us ever has to rely on memory.

What is filmed. The session only. You are fully clothed from start to finish, as set out in section 13, and there is never nudity at any point on this retreat.

Who sees it. No one, in the normal course of things. These recordings are never rewatched for pleasure, for training or for review. They are not edited, not shared with the group, and never used as promotional material, of any kind. They are opened only if there is a specific reason: a concern raised by you, a complaint, an insurance requirement, or a legal obligation.

Where they are kept. In encrypted, access restricted storage, controlled by Mélina alone.

For how long. Twelve months after the retreat ends, then permanently deleted, unless an open file requires that they be kept longer.

Your consent. Because the recording protects both of us equally, it is a condition of receiving bodywork. If you would rather not be filmed, you can decline the bodywork sessions and take part in everything else. Tell us before you pay, and if that makes the retreat no longer worth it for you, we simply do not go ahead and your deposit is returned to you.

No other session on this retreat is filmed or recorded. Circles, ceremonies, breathwork and group sessions leave no trace.

The four Zoom integration calls are recorded separately, after your return, so that the replay is available to your group. That is the only recording anyone other than Mélina sees.

Our photographer and videographer is with us

Part of what you bring home from a trip like this one is being able to see yourself in it. So Léane Cloutier, the third member of the team, travels with the group as photographer and videographer and works throughout the retreat.

She works according to your consent, not ours. Before departure, every woman states her choice. That list is given to Léane, and she is the one who holds it. A woman who has said no is not filmed, and is not left in the background of a shot. She is told this before she begins, and she is asked to leave any session or any moment where her presence is not welcome.

She never enters a bodywork session, and she never films a circle where someone has asked her not to.

Photos and video

Your image is used only with your consent.

Before departure, you tell us your choice, and you can change it at any time, during the retreat or after your return.

• If your answer is no, no photo or video in which you are identifiable is published in any public space. Not on social media, not in advertising, not on our website, not in print.
• If your answer is yes, you grant us a non exclusive license to use those images to share our work.
• You can withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to [email protected]. We will remove the material from everything we control as quickly as is reasonably possible. You owe us no reason. Content already shared by third parties, or printed material already produced, may not be fully recoverable, and we will tell you honestly if that is the case.

Written testimonials are used only when you have given them to us for that purpose.

You may take your own photos, and you agree not to publish images of other participants without their permission.

17. Our material

The workbooks, the recordings, the replays of the integration calls, the written practices and any other material we give you are for your personal use. They remain our intellectual property, and you agree not to copy, resell, publish or distribute them.

18. Communications

We contact you by email at the address you give us. Keeping it up to date and checking it, including your spam folder, is your responsibility. Important logistics are sent by email in the weeks before departure.

19. Events outside our control

Neither party is liable for a failure to perform caused by an event outside its reasonable control, including: natural disaster, earthquake, landslide, flood, extreme weather, epidemic or pandemic, government measure, border closure, travel restriction, civil unrest, strike, terrorism, war, rail or air disruption, or the failure of an essential supplier.

Section 9 sets out what happens to your payment in that situation.

20. Privacy policy

This policy is written to comply with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as modernized by Law 25. Because participants come from several countries, it also reflects the rights granted by Canada's PIPEDA and, for participants from the European Union and the United Kingdom, by the GDPR.

Any question, request or complaint about your personal information goes to that address.

What we collect

• Identity and contact details: your name as it appears on your passport, email address, phone number, mailing address, date of birth.
• Travel: flight details, arrival and departure times, and your passport number when it is required to issue train and site entry tickets in your name.
• Health: what you disclose on the health form and in conversation, including medical conditions, medication, allergies and dietary requirements.
• Preferences: sleep habits, room preferences, and anything you tell us so that we can take good care of you.
• Payment: processed by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
• Documents: a copy of your passport, collected on the consent and health form, used only to issue your train and site entry tickets in your name.
• Recordings: video of your bodywork sessions, and of the four Zoom integration calls. Nothing else on the retreat is recorded. See section 16.
• Website: basic statistics and cookies when you visit our pages.

Why we collect it, and on what basis

To perform this contract with you: to arrange your participation, to book accommodation, transport and entry tickets in your name, to adapt what we offer to your body and your diet, to process payment, and to communicate with you before, during and after the retreat.

To protect your vital interests and those of the group, in the case of health information.

To meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it for advertising purposes. We do not use it for automated decision making or profiling.

Health information

Health information is sensitive and is treated as such. It is used only to keep you safe and to adapt what we offer you. It is seen only by Mélina and the team members with her, and is shared with a care provider only in an emergency, or with the accommodation's kitchen when a food allergy makes it necessary. It is collected with your express consent, on the health form.

Who else receives your information

Only what is strictly necessary, and only:

• Samadhi Sacred Valley, for accommodation and meals
• The rail operator and the Machu Picchu ticketing authority, for tickets issued in your name
• Ground transport providers in Peru
• Our payment processor, our email platform and our course platform
• Our accountant and, where the law requires it, the tax authorities

Some of these are located outside Quebec, notably in Peru and the United States, so your information is transferred outside the province. We share only the minimum required and we assess, before transferring, whether the information will receive adequate protection.

How long we keep it

Contact and booking records: seven years, to meet accounting and tax obligations. Consent and health forms: destroyed within twelve months after the retreat ends, unless you ask us to keep them for a future retreat. Recordings of bodywork sessions: twelve months, then permanently deleted, as set out in section 16. The copy of your passport: deleted as soon as your tickets are issued.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

• Ask to see what we hold about you
• Ask us to correct it
• Ask us to delete it, where the law does not require us to keep it
• Ask us to stop using it, or withdraw a consent you had given
• Ask to receive it in a structured, commonly used technological format, or to have it transferred
• Complain about how we have handled it

If our response does not satisfy you, you can contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec. Participants from the European Union or the United Kingdom may also contact the data protection authority in their own country.

Privacy incidents

We keep a register of privacy incidents. If an incident presents a risk of serious harm to you, we will notify you, notify the Commission d'accès à l'information promptly, and take reasonable steps to reduce the risk.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies necessary for it to function, and basic statistics that tell us how the pages are used. Non essential cookies can be refused in your browser.

21. Governing law and language

This agreement is governed by the laws of the province of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable there. Any dispute is submitted to the courts of the judicial district of Québec, Quebec, Canada.

This agreement is published in English on this page. A French version is available at oraclewoman.com/agreement-privacypolicy, and on request at [email protected]. By proceeding in English, you confirm that this is your choice.

If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in force.

22. Changes to this page

We may update these terms. The version that applies to you is the one published on this page on the date you paid your deposit, and we keep a copy of it. Important changes that affect a confirmed booking are sent to you by email.

23. Your acceptance, and how it is given

No handwritten signature is required, and none will be asked for.

At checkout, you check a box that says "I have read and I accept the terms, the participation agreement and the privacy policy." Checking that box and completing your payment has the same legal effect as signing this document by hand. Under Quebec law, an agreement can be formed and consent given electronically, and that is what happens here.

We keep a record of the date and time you checked the box, of the payment, and of the exact version of this page in force on that day. You can request a copy of all three at any time.

We also email you, within fifteen days of your payment, a copy of this agreement in the version that applies to you, together with your receipt.

By checking that box and paying a deposit or the full price of the Oracle Woman retreat, you confirm that:

• You are 21 or older.
• You have read and accepted this page in full, and in particular section 5 on the non refundable deposit, section 7 on cancellation, section 11 on what this retreat is and is not, section 12 on health disclosure, section 13 on risk, and section 16 on the filming of bodywork sessions.
• You have read the activity by activity descriptions at the end of section 13, including the temazcal, the paqarina, Machu Picchu, Maras and Moray, the breathwork and vital energy activation, and the bodywork, and you acknowledge the specific risks named for each.
• You understand that every activity is optional, that you can opt out of any of them at any time, and that no refund is given for an activity you choose not to take part in.
• You will complete and sign the consent and health form that follows your payment, and you understand that your place is not final until you have done so.
• The information you have given us is accurate and complete.
• You understand that no outcome is promised or guaranteed.
• You will hold travel insurance that meets the requirements of section 6.
• You understand that your deposit is non refundable and that the refund of the balance follows the table in section 7.
• You understand that your installments are charged each month on your enrollment date, that they may continue after the retreat depending on the plan you chose, and that the balance for a retreat you attended remains due in full.
